Earlier in the term we shared our successful cross-country results from the event back in March. One of our year 4 girl teams waited eagerly hoping their individual results of 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 21st out of 156 runners meant they placed highly in the final team standings. We are incredibly proud to announce that Primrose, Aggie, Violet and Gracie ended up coming 1st out of 36 other teams! Having a winning team in the IPSSA cross country event is a first for Rendlesham Primary School and the winning trophy is now displayed in our cabinet. As you can see, the girls were very excited to receive it!

Vikings have been crowned our Summer term 1 TT Rockstars Champions! Normans came in a superb second place. In Key Stage 2 we had over 400,000 correct answers in the last 5 weeks. An amazing achievement, well done all. At the end of the Summer term, we will be awarding trophies for the child who has answered the most correct answers; and who is the quickest this year. We will also be giving our key rings for the most correct answers in each Key Stage 2 class.

On Wednesday, Year 3 and 4 made summer rolls as part of our DT for this term. They selected their own fillings, and many tried something for the first time. Most agreed that they were delicious and they had lots of ideas about how to improve their recipes.

We have our Spring term Times Table Rock Stars Finalists: Normans beat our reigning League champions, Saxons comprehensivley 1,071 - 316 in Semi Final 1 and Vikings confidently beat Mayans 1,503 - 526 in Semi Final 2. A special mention to Jesse and Joshua who both answered over 16,000 correct questions for their respective classes, an amazing achievement well done! Normans vs Vikings starts today with the winner being crowned next Thursday. The winning class will be rewarded with an afternoon of Golden Time.

Here are some of our favourite Snap and Shares from Learning Pi over the past week. A great mix of children participating, showing determination and resilience and risk-taking.

Last week, Year 3 and 4 visited Jimmy's Farm and Wildlife Park. We were so lucky with the weather and managed to see all the animals, including the polar bears and lions and tiger. There was lots of fantastic discussion about how these animals have adapted to live in our climate. The children were so well-behaved and all enjoyed a wonderful trip.
