Aztecs and Celts

Welcome to the Aztecs and Celts, we are the Reception Class.

Here is our current timetable and newsletter.

The children in Reception have been learning about what resilience and perseverance means by reading and dramatising the story of Ernest Shackleton. They used his story as a starting point to finding out more information about Antarctica.

The children in EYFS join together on Thursday afternoons to work on different projects and skills. These are some of the photos from today. They have been sewing, junk model making and using construction kits. They are also collaborating and risk taking.

EYFS children were set a construction challenge - work collaboratively to build a house for The Three Little Pigs. We discussed what our houses would need to have and then made some great representations! This activity promoted working together and resilience when things didn't work out as we had planned.

Here is our current timetable:

Here's some photos of our music last term - we linked it with our literacy text 'Meerkat Mail'. We chose a page from the story and had to try to make it come to life with music! We collaborated with different instruments to create a soundscape to match the page. It was raining on the page we chose so we experimented lots with how to use instruments to create sounds of rain.

In Celebration of St Patrick's Day Egyptians took part in Darcey Bussell's interactive dance fitness class! They had to do all this dressed in their Red Nose Day outfits!
